Speicher 210 GmbH, located in Hamburg/Germany, is looking for a Senior PHP Software Engineer with excellent knowledge of PHP 5.3 and Software architecture know-how for framework development, conception/ development & implementation of business related app

About us
We are Speicher 210 - a small but highly effective company with a motivated consultancy and development team who are specialized in IT consultancy and business related application development. Speicher 210 is located in the beautiful hanseatic city of Hamburg from where we serve our national and international clients.

What to expect
Your main activities will be framework development and implementation of business related applications, technical conception and documentation. You will be working in our team and in close cooperation with external developers.

About you

• You have an excellent working knowledge of PHP 5.3 (PHP 5.4 is a plus), web application development and best-practices like DRY, KISS and coding to E_STRICT validity.
• You have solid experience implementing PHP applications and interest in and awareness of best practices in software development (OOP / OOD) with knowledge of performance, scalability, maintainability, security, etc.
• You have significant experience of PHP development in a commercial environment and preferably a computer science related degree or equivalent.
• You have an in-depth know-how in Software Architecture, familiarity with design patterns, unit testing and writing testable code.
• You have experience with SQL. (Design, SQL; optimization/normalization experience is a bonus)
• You are an experienced coder and well versed in various technologies/languages.
• You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• You are a strong team player, and have good communication skills.

Some nice to haves:
HTML5 / CSS3 / JS, experience with a revision control system (Git is a plus), Linux (basic knowledge), experience with other programming languages/frameworks is a big plus (Ruby/Rails, Node, C#, etc.).

Zend and/or MySQL certifications are preferred, but not required. However, we do support all new employees to become Zend Certified Engineers within the first few months of their employment (at our expenses).
