V-NewsTicker
The V-NewsTicker is probably the best FREE vertical news scroller ever written (I still haven't found better :). Features include easy setup, small size, pausing, sliding up or down... You can use it as a news board instead of a Java applet or a Flash, which will take much more time to load. It supports the most popular browsers plus Konqueror 3.1+, which already supports the CSS clip and overflow properties correctly.

The tree has been tested on IE 4.0, 5.0, 5.5, 6.0 on Windows, IE 5.0 on Mac, and various versions of Netscape 6.0 and Mozilla.
