PHP's Dynamic Filesystem Functions

Much of the time spent in past issues has been spent covering PHP and MySQL working in unison to accomplish a particular goal. But what if your ISP was unwilling to support MySQL? Fear not, fellow programmer! PHP offers a series of flexible and powerful filesystem functions, allowing for the possibility to store "databases" in the form of flatfiles.
