Piwik kommt zwar mit weniger Feature als Google-Analytics daher, dennoch bietet Piwik zahlreiche professionelle Features die für eine Auswertung unabdingbar sind.
Als eines der wichtigen Features, gerade in Deutschland in Bezug auf Datenschutz, erweist sich das Do-Not-Track Feature. Browser die den DNT-Header senden, werden von Piwik nicht mehr getrackt.
Piwik ist kostenlos und wurde in PHP / mySQL geschrieben. Eine komplette Featureliste steht unter http://piwik.org/features/ zur Verfügung.
